Further, the Sarusajal Sports Complex at Guwahati where the opening and closing ceremonies are going to be held along with other events is located adjacent to this highway. However, the condition of this highway is not satisfactory, and is visibly in need of repairs and maintence.”

As the participants in the Games are going to frequently travel through this highway, Gogoi said, it is essential that Immediate repairs and maintence works are taken up on this road, particularly on the stretch near Guwahati so that the positive image of the Games is not possibly marred by the conditions of the highway.
