Retired ASHB employees demand release of dues

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, June 5: The ASHB Retired Employees’ Association has demanded of the State Government to release their dues immediately.  Talking to the press at Guwahati Press Club here today, Association secretary Jogeswar Saikia said: “ASHB employees who had got appointment till July 31, 1974 got all benefits, including pension. However, the employees recruited after that and retired have been deprived of all benefits, let alone pension. While the budgets of other departments and boards are allocated annually in the Annual Budget, that of ASHB employees is not even as they are the ones who execute housing schemes of the government. We’ve meetings with the new chairman of the board. However, the chairman’s response towards our demands isn’t positive. He hasn’t even released the CPF amount of the employees, let alone other benefits.” According to Saikia, they have not been getting their dues since 2010 and they have informed it of the department concerned. “We want the intervention of the government in this regard,” he said.
