Retired HPC engineer escapes bid on life

DIMORIA, Feb 26: A retired engineer of HPC, gaon, Badal Deka, had a providential escape this morning when an unidentified gunman fired at him when he was sitting in his house at Dhopguri in Khetri on the outskirts of Guwahati. Deka was sitting along with his son and another person when he came under the attack. The miscreant fired at him from NH-37, breaking the window of the house, besides piercing the wall of his kitchen. When informed, top police personnel from Khetri police station, including the DCP, rushed to Deka’s house. Investigation is on.
