Guwahati, Dec 29: A three-day Robotics Workshop is being held at Concept Educations, Maligaon Center where students from various schools are participating to learn the basics of Robotics. The workshop conducted by Ignotech is a brainchild of four students of IIT Guwahati, Himangshu Gupta, Ankur Deka, Ashish Poddar and Rajat Harlalka.

Giving a brief about their first workshop, Himangshu Gupta, one of the members of Ignotech said, “The four of us met at Concept Educations when we were preparing for Engineering. At present we all study at IIT Guwahati and are members of the Robotics club at the institute. It is our love and passion for Robotics that made us learn more about the subject and since there is nothing much going on in the region in this field, we decided to hold this workshop. Through this we are sure that students like us who have an interest in this field can get a hands on experience.”

On the first day, students were taught basics of electronics and coding. The second day they were taught to build a Bluetooth controlled robot where they used their smartphones to control it. They also made a robot that followed light. On the last day of the workshop, students will be taught to make a digital alarm clock which can also emit light when you clap your hands.

Gautam Saha, Director, Concept Educations said, “We are glad to be a part of this workshop since the four of them have been our students and this is a very good initiative from their end. Workshop such as this is required so that students get a better idea of the subject and also have a practical experience.”

Around 80 students have enrolled in the workshop and with the overwhelming response that Ignotech received; they are planning to hold more of such workshops very soon.
