RSC raps its district election officer

GUWAHATI, Dec 22: Rashtriya Secular Congress (RSC) state president Makoni Barman alleged that district election officer Chinmoy Phukan has abandoned the tiol party to meet the central election commissioner saying that the party is not a registered party.

Speaking to the press in Guwahati Press Club today, Barman said: “As a district election officer, Phukan should not give such a comment without verifying the documents of the party. We want to clarify Phukan and others that ours is a tiolly registered party. It was registered on March 8, 2011 by the tiol registration authority with the No. F.No.56/116/2009/PPS-1/775 under 29A of the Representation of the People Act. Phukan has defamed us and abandoned us to meet the central election commissioner, for which we are going to complain to the Deputy Commissioner about this misconduct.”
