'Run for Bharat ke Veer': Runner leaves for M’laya, Tripura

GUWAHATI, April 8: Ultra-marathon runner Samir Singh of Madhya Pradesh, along with four others, arrived at Frontier HQ BSF, Guwahati on Saturday by a marathon – ‘Run for Bharat ke Veer’ (for the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for the tion). He left for Meghalaya and Tripura on Sunday after visiting Goddess Kamakhya Devi.

The marathon was flagged off by the BSF from Amritsar, Attari border on December 1, 2018. On 4 April 4, he entered Assam. The marathon will be around 15,000  km all across the country to generate funds for the families of martyrs of the Central Armed Police Forces, as part of a government initiative. Samir Singh has been invited to run under the Government of India’s initiative ‘Bharat Ke Veer’, a website which allows people to dote directly to an individual brave heart’s account.

Samir Singh is confident that his effort will motivate the people to remember the martyrs who laid their lives for the tion. Moreover, this initiative will also facilitate to generate more funds for the families of martyrs through online dotions on the ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ portal. He has already covered Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kartaka, Kerala, Andhra, Odisha and West Bengal. This Ultra Marathon will termite after his arrival at Attari border in April by running across 22 states. BSF is extending all logistic support to him during his en route having its deployment. A great initiative and endeavour on part of Samir Singh to the martyrs of CAPFs who some time remained unsung.
