Rural jourlists team to visit Gujarat

GUWAHATI, March 2: A 20-member team of rural jourlists of Assam will embark on an exposure tour to Gujarat on March 5, 2017 from Guwahati. The team will stay for ten days in Gujarat and visit different development and historical sites of the state and interact with political and media persolities. Media adviser to Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami will address the team prior to their journey on March 4, 2017 in a programme to be held at Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Photo & Archive and Research Centre in the city.

It may be mentioned that for the first time any media team of the state will travel by air for any exposure visit organized by the state Government. As per direction from the Chief Minister, theI&PR Department arranges air travel for the team breaking earlier convention.

During the visit, the team will interact with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, I&PR Minister and Tourism Minister of Gujarat, senior officials of Gujarat Government and local media persons. Apart from exploring different development work sites, the team will also visit Sabarmati Ashram, Calico Museum, Gandhi Memorial Museum, various historical sites, AMUL Diary Factory, AMUL Museum, Flo Art Gallery, Sardar Patel & Vithalbhai Patel Memorial, Textile industries of Surat, industrial estates etc., in Gujarat.

The I&PR Department has already completed all preparations for the tour. The visit is expected to acquaint the media persons of Assam with the factors influencing the economic growth of Gujarat and will strengthen bond between the media fraternity of both the states.
