GUWAHATI, March 14: Madhavdeva Intertiol Auditorium at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra saw the performance of Safarma on Wednesday, directed by Mahmud Alam. The play rrates six random chapters of a probable travelogue. Six seemingly unconnected stories put together in no particular order –stories of hope, desire, love, loss and despair. On Thursday, the Theatre Olympics will see the multilingual performance of To Kill Or Not To Kill by director Ovlyakuli Khodjakuli. The play rrates the story of a woman, downtrodden by society in a little ‘corner’ and under pressure of life’s difficulties, starts imagining herself as Medea and Hamlet. In the production, Hamlet’s life events develop parallel to Medea’s life story. The Guwahati chapter of Theatre Olympics 2018 is organized by tiol School of Drama (NSD) under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Government of Assam. The Guwahati edition of the festival will end on March 25, 2018.  Guwahati is one of the co-hosts for the 8th Theatre Olympics which is being held for the first time in India.
