Saikia visits meat parlours

GUWAHATI, April 7: Assam Livestock and Poultry Development Corporation (ALPDC) Chairman Manoj Saikia today visited various meat shops at Six Mile and Ganeshguri areas in the city and inspected unhygienic cutting and selling of meat. He was accompanied by officials of the GMC, Veteriry Department and the ALPDC. Saikia said that unhygienic cutting and selling of meat takes place in Guwahati and elsewhere in the State even though there are standing orders in this regard from the Supreme Court of India and the Central Government.
