Sanitation in Kamrup

GUWAHATI, Oct 2: Bongora Gaon Panchayat in Kamrup district has been able to bring the entire GP area under sanitation. According to the PHE Department, 330 of the 1,258 families in the GP got sanitary disposal of latrines constructed by the department, spending Rs 12,000 apiece. Defecation in the open will be a thing of the past in four other GPs in the district - Amranga, Khetrihardia, Lahokoyatal and Rajapukhuri - that will be brought under total sanitation soon.
