Sarma may table Budget on Feb 12

GUWAHATI, Jan 21: State Fince Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is likely to table the State Annual Budget, 2018-19 on February 12, 2018. The month-long Budget session is going to start from February 6.

This State Budget is likely to be a populist one for 2019 being the year of Lok Sabha poll. It is also anticipated by circles concerned that the Union Budget for 2018-19 is also likely to be a populist one keeping an eye on the Lok Sabha poll in 2019. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the State Assembly is going to meet on January 24 to decide the duration of the Budget session.
