GUWAHATI, March 15: MP RP Sarma today raised the construction of Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project in the Lok Sabha and urged the Centre and NHPC to clear their stand so as to ensure timely completion of the project. Sarma demanded of the Centre and the Union Ministry of Power to direct the expert to submit its report. He also demanded of NHPC authority and the Power Ministry to take up the construction of the project. He requested Dispur to facilitate transportation of men and materials to the dam site at Gerukamukh. Sarma said hundreds of villages in Assam are still to get power supply. According to him, no major company wants to invest in the State due to shortage of power.
