Sarma's sibling no more, Sonowal condoles death

GUWAHATI, Aug 11: Assam Fince Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s younger brother Prasanta Biswa Sarma breathed his on Friday due to cardiac arrest.

Prasanta Biswa Sarma, who had been suffering from a heart disease from a long time, breathed his last at his official residence in Raipur, the capital of Chattisgarh. He was 46. He was an employee of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in Raipur. He leaves behind his wife and two children.

Meanwhile, the Fince minister has deferred all his proceedings for the day and flown out to Raipur.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal condoled the death of Prashanta Biswa Sarma. Expressing his grief in a statement, Sonowal said that Prasanta Biswa Sarma, through dedication and sincerity, made steadfast contribution to society in his service life. Sarma, who was also a poet, gave ample testimony of his talents by contributing articles and write-ups to leading newspapers of the state. 

Terming the demise of Sarma as a loss to society, Sonowal prayed for the eterl peace of the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
