Satyarthi to launch rally for child protection

GUWAHATI, Sept 21: The Northeast leg of tionwide campaign—Bharat Yatra led by Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi against Child Sexual Abuse and Trafficking on the theme, “let us together create a safe childhood for our children”, will be launched in Guwahati on Friday at Gauhati University Sports Complex from 2.00 pm Nobel Peace laureate and child rights activist Satyarthi launched Bharat Yatra from Kanyakumari to Delhi on September 11 marking the beginning of his three-year campaign against child sexual abuse and trafficking. During the launch of this campaign, Satyarthi appealed to the youth to join the march to ensure the safety and security of the children, who are the future of India. The event is likely to be attended State Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma and Sports Minister ba Kumar Doley and members of CII, young India. Altogether 20 schools of Guwahati are likely to participate in the Bharat Yatra in a show of solidarity.
