SBI felicitates 5 women

GUWAHATI, March 8: State Bank of India (SBI) celebrated Intertiol Women’s Day with a programme at its head office in Guwahati on Thursday. Five eminent persolities of the State – writer Nirupama Borgohain, drama artiste Cheta Das, athlete Tayabun Nisha, table tennis player Madalasha Hazarika Baruah, staff officer to the Chief Secretary Kitri Jally and social activist Archa Barthakur – were felicitated at the function.

While Tayabun Nisha pointed out the importance of making the young generation and school-going children understand the importance of Women’s Day, Cheta Das entertained the crowd with her famous comedies right from her childhood to Assamese cinema. The programme was held in the presence of SBI’s Chief General Mager PVSLN Mutry, GM of North Eastern Circle Digmanu Gupta and others of the bank.
