SBI installs POS termil at Kamakhya Railway Station

GUWAHATI, Dec 13: Moving towards digitalization of society State Bank of India and Indian Railways have entered into a tie-up whereby SBI POS termils will be installed at various locations of Indian Railways ticket booking counters to allow cashless transactions by using debit/credit cards.

According to a press release, to kick off the initiation SBI today installed POS termil at ticket counter of Kamakhya Railway station. The POS termil was iugurated by Om Prakash Mishra, General Mager NW-I, SBI, North Eastern Circle and Aneet Dulat, CCM, NF Railway, Maligaon in the presence of Bisweswar Haldar, Deputy General Mager (AC&P), SBI, LHO, Guwahati and Basab Shyam, Asst General Mager (MAB). From side, K T Beicho, FA &CAO and Sudhendu Sengupta, Deputy CCM, NF Railway were present there in the iugural ceremony. Shortly SBI is going to install POS machines in phases at all Railway stations in collaboration with NF Railway throughout the Northeast. There is a requirement of 698 termils during the first phase of mass installation POS at Railway stations which will cover all ticket counters and parcel counters coming under the operation of NF Railway.
