Scholarship in memory of Asudev

GUWAHATI, Aug 19: Asudev Foundation, in collaboration with Gauhati Artists’ Guild, is going to institute a scholarship in memory of Asudev, a founder member of the Guild, for students undergoing postgraduation courses in art. The first such scholarship will be conferred on students from December 13 this year. 

Artist Asudev was born on December 13, 1917 in Dhubri district. He had his schooling from Cotton Collegiate, Guwahati. He immensely contributed in the field of art. He passed away on February 6, 1983.  Kishor Kumar Das, GS of Gauhati Artists’ Guild said, “Candidates for the scholarship should be under any UGC recognized university, he or she has to be a resident of Assam and the last date of apply is September 30. The scholarship will be given for postgraduate courses in art, sculpture, fine arts, painting, designing and history of arts.” The scholarship carries Rs 50,000, citation etc.
