'Seducing the Rain God' released

Guwahati, July 5: The English version of short story collection ‘Seducing the Rain God’ was formally released on Sunday in the city in the presence of a host of dignitaries.

The compilation of stories written by Smriti Kumar Sinha in Bishnupriya Manipuri language is translated into English by veteran jourlist Ramlal Sinha. The book is published by Niyogi Books of New Delhi.

The author Smriti Sinha, a professor of Computer Science in Tezpur University, said that the translation aims to present the vital essence of these stories, the unique culture of northeast India and the subtle nuances of the Bishnupriya Manipuri language.
