Session on role of physiotherapy

GUWAHATI, Oct 5: An interactive session was organized by Dr. Abhijit Dutta PT, HOD, Department of Physiotherapy, Assam Downtown University here recently.

The session was about the immense role that Physiotherapy plays in life and in society. The session emphasized specially the evolving field of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy and the important role that Physiotherapy plays in treatment and rehabilitation of uriry incontinence.

The key speakers were Dr. Sumanta Ghosh PT and Dr. Indu Kshayap from New Delhi.

The session was graced by Assam Downtown University vice chancellor Dr. Ramesh Chandra Deka and Dr. BG Unni (research director), also of the University.

Apart from the students of Assam Downtown University, students from College of physiotherapy and Medical Sciences, Bonda and Regiol Institute of Paramedical Technology, Panjabari participated the session.

In his speech, Dr. Deka emphasized the role of respiratory physiotherapy in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients in critical care unit.
