Seven candidates for SSC exam in police net

GUWAHATI, Feb 12: As many as seven candidates of HS-level combined examition appearing in the skill test in Guwahati were arrested since February 11, for making others to take the prelimiry and main examitions for them. Now they have been sent to police remand. All the seven candidates hail from Bihar.

The prelimiry examition of HS-level SSC was held on September 18, 2015 and the main was on November 1, 2016. The skill test was held on February 11 and 12, 2017.

While comparing the video pictures of the candidates taken during the prelimiry and the main examitions with the candidates appearing the skill test now, the pictures of seven candidates did not match. While five such cases were detected on February 11, two more were detected today.

SSC Assistant Director (NER) Mukut Saikia filed and FIR with Chandmari Police in this connection on February 11.

The candidates who were caught yesterday have been identified as Armit Khagra, Kundan Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Abhisekh Rai and Kumar Gunjan, and the two caught today are Rakesh Kumar and Devender Kumar. A racket has been active in taking the examitions of other candidates, be it for jobs or for admission into medical or engineering colleges. Assam did witness incidents of candidates taking medical entrance examitions proxy in the recent past. The need of the hour is implementation of unbeatable checking mechanisms to prevent such crimes from happening.
