SFI demands probe into B Barooah College incident

GUWAHATI, Sept 2: The Students’ Federation of India, Kamrup (Metro) District Committee, on Wednesday condemned the B Barooah College harassment case and demanded exemplary punishment for the associate professor Dr Heman Chandra Mazumdar, if found guilty. Slamming the College magement for its stand, the SFI urged the magement to order an independent probe into the incident. It also urged the magement to suspend the associate professor immediately.  In a press statement, president and secretary of the organization Putul Barman and Sangita Das respectively, said that they have taken up the matter with the Commissioner of Police of Guwahati Mukesh Agarwala and has sent a telegram to him, requesting him to initiate an inquiry.
