GUWAHATI, Dec 7: As a mark of respect and acknowledgment to the supreme sacrifice of the armed forces, Rs. 10.25 lakh was given to A.G. Basumatary, the recipient of Shaurya Chakra Gallantry Award today on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day. As Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal is on an official tour to Kolkata, his Media Adviser Hrishikesh Goswami felicitated Basumatary with a gamocha and handed him over the cheque worth Rs. 10.25 lakh at Jata Bhawan today. Several officers both from the State Government and Armed Forces were present on the occasion.
