GUWAHATI April 4: The five-day-long Silk Mark Expo began in Guwahati on Wednesday. The expo will be held till April 8 at NEDFi House, Dispur. The expo, organized by Silk Mark Organization of India (SMOI) and sponsored by Central Silk Board, regiol office, was iugurated by tiol Award winner Assamese actress Malaya Goswami. Iugurating the expo Goswami said that this is a platform to create awareness amongst people to buy only pure silk. She urged everyone to come and experience the purity of silk from the expo. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Mamata B Sarma, Executive, SMOI, Regiol Office, Central Silk Board said that Silk Mark Organization of India (SMOI) is an initiative of Central Silk Board and has been working for protecting the interest of the sericulture farmers.
