Silpi Samaroh Diwas organized

GUWAHATI, Sept 12: The Asom tya Sanmilan (ANS) organized the central 'Silpi Samaroh Diwas' in memory of artiste Brajath Sarma at Lakhiram Barooah Sadan in the city today by its Guwahati city committee. Parliamentary secretary of Education Department Rekibuddin Ahmed, who was the chief guest at the programme, said: "The bandh culture affects the general life in the state because of which, people face many problems. The youth should also be involved in cultural activities to get united and make a better state." ANS Guwahati committee general secretary Mustak Ali said: "The programme was organized to create awareness about drama among the people and in the memory of artiste Sarma. We also felicitated three senior artistes of the state for their contribution in the field of drama and culture. They are actor Probin Das, singer Manik Bordoloi and illumition artiste Ram Hazarika. The programme was followed by a cultural programme with a drama 'Chandra Sarmar Biloi' written by Prabhat Goswami."
