Six trucks seized

GUWAHATI, June 30: The city enforcement wing of Kamrup District Transport Office (DTO) conducted a drive at Dash Mile in the Jorabat area and seized six trucks last night for violating traffic guidelines. Senior enforcement inspector Rupjyoti Kalita, who led the team, said: "We inspected a total of 27 trucks in the  area last night and found many of them violating traffic rules. MVI cases have been filed against five trucks. We have collected Rs 72,500 from erring trucks as fine. Today we conducted a drive in the ABC area near Bhangagarh and collected Rs 24,200 from the bike riders and auto rickshaws as fines for not wearing helmet and violation of traffic rules."
