GUWAHATI, Jan 6: The Sanmilita Jagosthiya Oikya Mancha (SJOM) staged a dhar at Dighalipukhuripar in the city today in support of their demand for review of the BTC Accord and amendment to the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. SJOM chief convener Brojen Mahanta told the press: “The rivalry between Bodos and non-Bodos in the BTAD  has been going on for many years, resulting into the killing of thousands of people and making lakhs of people homeless. We have submitted a number of memoranda and representations to the central and the state governments, but to little avail. We, therefore, staged the dhar today and submitted a memorandum to Governor PB Acharya demanding the review the BTC Accord, exclusion of non-Bodo majority villages from the BTAD, making the MBK Singh commission’s report public, rehabilitation of all displaced persons in the ethnic cleansing, punishment to the culprits, etc.”
