Skill development training through community radio

GUWAHATI, Jan 3: A week-long capacity-building programme on integration of community learning programme (CLP) in skill development leading to sustaibility began today at the SVD House, Airport Road, Borjhar. The programme was organized by the Dr. Amika Ray Memorial Trust (ARMT), in collaboration with the Commonwealth Educatiol Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), New Delhi. The iugural session of the programme was attended by Dr Chandrabhanu Pattayak, Director, Institute of Knowledge Studies and former Adviser to the Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India, R B Mahanta, Vice Chairman, ARMT, Sanjogita Mishra, Programme Officer, CEMCA, New Delhi, Dr Ankuran Dutta, Maging Trustee, ARMT, Dr Paul Pudussery, Head Department of Education, Assam Don Bosco University and Devi Lee Bose, Community Media Expert, New Delhi. “It is really important for us to understand that skill development and livelihood building are inter-related, hence this workshop is designed to skill the community radio to bring in all-round change in society,” said Dr Chandrabhanu Pattayak.
