Smart India Hackathon 2017 on April 1 and 2

GUWAHATI, March 28: Preparations are on to host the Smart India Hackathon’ 2017 at Girijanda Chowdhury Institute of Magement and Technology (GIMT), Guwahati on April 1 and 2, 2017. This is an initiative by All India Council for Technical Education under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to make the dream of Digital India a reality.  

GIMT Guwahati has been selected as the only nodal centre in the north-eastern region among 26 nodal centres all over the country. This initiate of AICTE attempts to institutiolize a model for harnessing the creativity and problem solving skills of the young talents, thus leading to digital solution of problems faced by society. Under the Ministry of DONER, 33 teams, each team comprising six student members and two mentors from 32 institutions all over the country are participating in the event. The Grand File is scheduled to be held simultaneously at all nodal centres across the country for a total duration of 36 hours continuously. Winners of this competition will receive cash prizes and a chance to be a part of SSCOM’s 10,000 Startup programmes.
