Social media workshop for women entrepreneurs

GUWAHATI, Nov 14: Digital Ant, in association with Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati, conducted a ‘Social Media and Digital Marketing’ workshop for the women entrepreneurs of the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship at the IIE campus, Guwahati on Wednesday. This workshop was sponsored by NRL and conducted by the in-house social media team of Digital Ant.

 Manoj Kumar Das, Director, IIE; Mr. JC Kalita, Administration Officer (i/c), IIE; and  ASS Dewan, AFM, IIE and Manish Choudhury, senior consultant, Digital Ant, were present in the iuguration of the workshop.

The workshop introduced women entrepreneurs to the concept of Social Media, various social media platforms and tools such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google AdWords, Facebook ads, Twitter ads, Pinterest promoted pins and many more. The participants were also taken through different types of websites and how to leverage them for business. They were also shown how to use Facebook and increase traffic to their business page, Social Media Alysis and Search Engine Optimization, how to write good content, designing, among others.

A total number of 45 women participated in the workshop.

Speaking at the workshop, Manish Choudhury said, “We’ve organized this workshop as a social initiative so that the women entrepreneurs of IIE benefit from our experience and expertise. Today, social media has changed the way people do business and the way we engage with our customers. It has grown to become one of the largest marketing channels for both sole proprietors and large businesses. Today, with multiple social media platforms to choose from, it has become a domint force in marketing. So it is very important that our entrepreneurs learn and understand this medium.”

Madhuchanda Adhikari Choudhury, Chief Mager (Corporate Communications) Numaligarh Refinery Limited said, “NRL is promoting this one-day workshop on concepts and application of social media for the benefit of women entrepreneurs. It is a welcome initiative as it introduces the upcoming entrepreneurs to leverage the wide possibilities of doing business through social media. Apart from assisting the event, NRL is also giving exposure to a few women entrepreneurs from the rural areas to learn about the digital platform and empower them to promote their business on a whole new level. This workshop will also show how to use popular mediums like Facebook and increase traffic to their business page, Social Media Alysis, Search Engine Optimization and how to stay out of trouble with the search engines.”
