GUWAHATI, Feb 19: The Akhil Bharaitya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Assam Pradesh has termed the demand for unconditiol release of JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiah Kumar by a section of political parties and intellectuals is an open support to anti-tiols.

Talking to newsmen here today, leaders of the ABVP said: “JNU had all along been the hub of anti-tiols. During Durga pujas, there were some who were worshipping Mahisasura and holding beef festivals, with a view to neglecting the occasion. The anti-India slogans in the campus on February 9 is a threat to the integrity of India. The incident has exposed what actually goes on in the campus. The rehearsals for anti-India activities do take place in the JNU campus.”

The ABVP leaders further said: “The programme of February 9 was organized by leaders of Kashmiri separatists, leaders close to Hafis Syed, SFI, AISF, AISA, DSO and other Left organizations. The incident of JNU reran at Jadavpur University in West Bengal. In such a backdrop, the demand for unconditiol release of Kanhaiah Kumar by a section of political parties and intellectuals is an open support to anti-tiol elements. In Assam too, the KMSS and the SFI have demanded unconditiol release of Kanhaiah Kumar. This is an open support to anti-tiol elements.” The ABVP leaders also condemned Rahul Gandhi for trying his best to divert the JNU issue.
