Solar training programme for NE states

GUWAHATI, Sept 24: A one day interaction meeting for Solar Training Program for the North Eastern States will be held on September 26 at India Club in the city. The training programme is organisaed by the MNRE, Regiol Office, Guwahati and tiol Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Gurgaon for officials of the northeastern states and repute institutes of the region. The training will help in imparting solar energy trainings to the grass root level technicians for creating a pool of strong force of skilled solar technicians in the North East. It is estimated to create jobs for 1,00,000 unemployed youths in implementation of 1 lakh megawatt of solar power in the country by 2022. It is also said that a full-fledged training and testing centre by the MNRE, Government of India for Solar Energy Systems will be established at Guwahati for which land has already been allotted by the state Government, stated Dr. D R Das, Advisor (North East), MNRE.
