GUWAHATI, May 2: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who is a member of an all important committee constituted to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, attended a meeting of the committee held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi today. The meeting held under the Chairmanship of President Ram Nath Kovind discussed the nitty-gritty for making the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation an epoch making one. The meeting also decided on the broad roadmap and suggested several measures for the successful celebrations of the birth anniversary.
Moreover, to take the celebrations across the globe cutting across all boundary, nine distinguished personalities from different fields have enlisted in the committee. They are Prime Minister of Portuguese Republic Antonio Costa, former Secretary Generals of United Nations Kofi Annan and Ben Ki- moon, Archbishop South Africa Desmond Tutu, former Prime Minister JapanYoshiru Mori, former Vice President USA Al Gore, Congresswoman USA Tulsi Gabbard. The 115 member committee features the names of personalities from different walks of life.
