Sonowal directs RBI, SBI to ensure smooth fund flow

GUWAHATI, Nov 12: In view of severe hardship being faced by bank customers due to shortage of fund at ATMs following the demonetization of Rs. 500 and 1000 currencies, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal has taken up the matter with BK Mishra, Regiol Director, RBI today to take emergent measures for easing out the customers’ woes.

The Chief Minsiter directed the RBI Regiol Director telephonically and pressed him hard for solving the problem immediately. The Regiol Director has informed the Chief Minister that already all steps have been taken so that bank customers no longer suffer any difficulty in withdrawal of fund at ATMs.

Further to ensure availability of adequate fund for disbursal of remuneration to the Tea Garden Workers, the Chief Minister has also taken up the matter with PVSLN Murty, Chief General Mager, State Bak of India over phone. The CGM informed the Chief Minister that already fund crisis has been successfully addressed and the Tea Garden Magements will be able to release remuneration to the garden workers on time.
