Sonowal flags off free bus services for women employees

 GUWAHATI, Jan 10: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal flagged off six ASTC buses for women employees of Jata Bhawan under Sustaible Development Goal programme at a simple function held on the premises of Jata Bhawan on Wednesday. 

It may be noted that the idea of providing free bus services exclusively to the women employees of Jata Bavan was emphasized by Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal. Accordingly a deed of agreement was executed between Secretariat Administration (Establishment) Department’s Vehicle Cell and ASTC buses for providing fleet of buses for the to and fro conveyance of the women employees. 
Flagging off the services, Sonowal said that providing busses to the women employees of the Jata Bhawan was one of the budget promises and he felt happy to have fulfilled the budget promise to ensure safety and convenience to the women employees of the Jata Bhawan. 
Sonowal while expressing his gratitude to Sodou Asom Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) in strengthening the State Government’s resolve of a good work culture, said the SAKP has been very steadfast and supportive to a good work culture propelled by the State Government. Referring to Prime Minister rendra Modi’s culture of working 18 hours a day, Sonowal said, “For the development of Assam we have to emulate Prime Minister Modi and render our services selflessly to stimulate development of the state”. 
Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Chief Minister’s Media Adviser Hrishikesh Goswami, MLAs Prasanta Phukan and Rituporno Baruah, Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, Additiol Chief Secretary VB Pyeralal, Commissioner Transport Ashutosh Agnihotri, Maging Director ASTC AP Tiwari and several senior government officers were present on the occasion.
