Sonowal makes strong pitch for investment in State

GUWAHATI, Nov 22: Making it loud and clear his scheme of things to bolster economic development of Assam in the back drop of a progressive industrial climate and Government’s intent of ease of doing business, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal urged the business houses to invest and create their footprints in Assam.

Lighting the auspicious lamp to mark the iuguration and celebration of ‘Assam Day’ as a part of the ongoing India Intertiol Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Tuesday evening, Chief Minister Sonowal made a fervent appeal to the investors to make Assam as one of their favoured destitions to expand their businesses. Making a strong pitch for investments in Assam, Sonowal said that some business establishments like Dabur, Patanjali, Hindusthan Uniliver have already made inroads in the State, and urged other business houses to invest in Assam. He moreover, said that the State is working very passiotely to create potential vistas to unearth its prosperities and possibilities.

Synchronising with the celebration of Assam Day, a colourful cultural programme was also organized to showcase the rich mosaic of cultural richness and diversity of the State.

Earlier, Sonowal visited the Assam Pavilion put up at the venue and dropped in all the stalls and talked to entrepreneurs. Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Water Resources Minister Keshab Mahanta, Member of Parliament Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and RP Sharma, Commissioner and Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Lohia, along with other dignitaries, were also present on the occasion.
