Sonowal pays tributes to Kushal Konwar

GUWAHATI, June 15: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal said that motivated by the Father of the tion Mahatma Gandhi, Kushal Knowar laid down his life for the cause of the tion. Because of the sacrifice of the martyrs like Kushal Konwar, India gained independence.

Speaking at the 74th death anniversary of Kushal Konwar, Sonowal said: “Te people of the State irrespective of Barak, Brahmaputra, hills and plains should pledge to live up to the values, ideals and customs set by our freedom fighters.

The death anniversary of Swahid Kushal Konwar was organized by Kamrup (M) District Administration at Nehru Park in the city today. Sonowal led the State in paying tributes to Kushal Knowar.  

Sonowal also said that for the overall development of Assam everybody has to work in tandem. Referring to the commitment, dedication and diligence of Prime Minister rendra Modi who raised morale of 125 crore people of the country by according them due prestige and dignity, Sonowal said that Modiji helped to usher in an atmosphere of change in the country by removing all the ill practices of the past. “We can pay our tribute to Swahid Kushal Konwar only when we are resolved to motivate our young generation to the noble objective of your freedom fighters”.

Sonowal also said that Prime Minister rendra Modi set a target of transforming India into a global leader. This objective can be achieved only when everybody put in their best possible efforts and if the objective is achieved it would be apt obeisance to the sacrifice of the martyrs like Swahid Kushal Konwar.

MP Bijaya Chakraborty, MP from Gujarat Ramsinh Rathwa and Ranjanben Bhatt, MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Ramendra rayan Kalita, Media Adviser to Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami, Guwahati Mayor Mrigen Sarania, Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, DGP Mukesh Sahay, Police Commissioner of Guwahati city Hiren th, Deputy Commissioner Dr. M. Angamuthu, family members of Kushal Konwar, freedom fighters Bhubaneswar Barman, Gopal Goswami, Jatin Goswami, Ambu Bora and a host of other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
