Sonowal's 1-year overtakes Gogoi’s 15 yrs: MLA

GUWAHATI, June 4: West Guwahati MLA Ramendra rayan Kalita has said that within as year the Sarbanda Sonowal-led coalition government in the State has been able to win people’s confidence which the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress government failed to do in long 15 years.

The AGP MLA made such a statement today when he was laying the foundation stones of as many as four roads at Padumbori and Gausala. “Tough steps were taken against corruption by the government that took many welfare schemes. This has benefited the people of the State immensely. This is the key to win people’s confidence by the State government,” he said, and added: “Problems afflicting the people of the State are many. Among them, poor connectivity and lack of potable water are the most serious ones. Construction and renovation of roads get priority,” he said. AGP’s central executive member Suraj Sarma, PWD ® Guwahati Division assistant executive engineer Hitesh Kalita, JE Amal Deka and others were present at the function.
