Sonowal's oath-taking is first content of Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive

GUWAHATI, June 6: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal’s oath-taking ceremony video is the first content of Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive.

In a bid to preserve and archive all kinds of important contents like films, music, special events, photographs, texts, etc., the Jyoti Chitraban Music Archive iugurated by State Cultural Minister ba Kumar Doley on December 30, 2016 has now been developed and remed as Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive.

Pabitra Margherita, the Chairman of Jyoti Chitraban, launched the official website of Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive (www.jcda.in), developed it and conceptualized by Celebstan - a startup founded under IIM Ahmedabad, at a press meet at Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive.  Jyoti Chitraban vice chairman Ashok Bhargav, secretary Monita Borgohain, noted filmmakers Sanjib Sabhapandit, Charu Kamal Hazarika and Dr. Bhupen Kaman, noted lyricist and senior jourlist Gautam Sharma, Abhijit Bhattacharya and others were present at the press meet.

The first content of the Digital Archive is the oath-taking ceremony of Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal. A number of noted filmmakers and producers submitted their productions, including films and music, at the launch event.

“As Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal always encourages promotion and preservation of our culture, we are on a mission to fulfill the same. And I heartily invite all artistes, producers, and even the public to submit important archival materials, which will be preserved for posterity in the Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive,” said Margherita.

Celebstan is the brainchild of Axl Hazarika and Amrita Sonowal, and is one of the top 8 innovative startup ideas selected under the IIM Averick Program of the Centre for innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship (CIIE), IIM Ahmedabad this year. Under this programme, every year IIM Ahmedabad selects top 5 to 10 innovative startup ideas, which they believe to have potential to become one of the top 500 companies in India.

Jyoti Chitraban also announced the Jyoti Chitraban Hall of Fame, the first Hall of Fame in Northeast India. The founding year inductees of the Jyoti Chitraban Hall of Fame are – Lakshmi Ram Barua, Jyoti Prasad Agawala, Parbati Prasad Baruva, Bishnu Prasad Rava, and Bhupen Hazarika.

Jyoti Chitraban also launched the first community news portal of Northeast India as part of the Digital Archive to give a platform to youngsters and artistically enthusiastic individuals to publish news articles, creative writing, etc.
