Special awards for veteran jourlists

GUWAHATI, Jan 12: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) is going to award three veteran jourlists –Dhirendra th Bezboruah, Dulal Sarma and Suraj Basumatary – of the State for their contribution in the field of jourlism.
AXX secretary general Paramanda Rajbongshi said in a statement today: “The Lakhmith Phukan Memorial ‘Jibonjura Xangbadik Xadho Bota’ will be given away to veteran jourlist Dhirendra th Bezboruah for his contribution in jourlism for more than four decades. Bezboruah was associated with ‘The Sentinel’ and the Editors Guild of India. Senior jourlist Dulal Sarma will be given away the ‘Xangbad Xadha Bota 2015’ by the AXX for his contribution in jourlism. We will give away the ‘Sambhawapurno Xangbadikor Bota 2015’ to senior jourlist Suraj Basumatary of Kokrajhar. He has been working in both print and electronic media for many years and performed well in his job. The awards will be given away at a special programme soon in the city.” “The awardees were selected by the media advisory committee, which was formed by the AXX with people like Rat Ujha, Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Mani Mahanta and others,”  Rajbongshi added.
