GUWAHATI, April 5: Srimanta Sankardeva Intertiol Cultural Centre (SSICC) has sought fincial assistance from Dispur for, what it says, intertiolizing the Vaishvite culture of Srimata Sankardeva, including its unique dance form. Talking to newsmen in the city today, SSICC founder Dr. Karu Sagar Das, who is staying in London, said: “There’re around 1,500 families in the UK. Even though most of the elders in those families know what the Sankari culture is, the younger generation is in dark about the rich Vaishvite culture. In order to make Sankari culture popular among this generation in the UK we’re going to set up an SSICC centre in London. However, the venture is too heavy a burden for us to shoulder. We, therefore, want fincial assistance from Dispur to make the venture a success. The venture, if implemented properly, will intertiolize Srimanta Sankardeva, his teachings and make the younger generation know it.”
