In a statement issued to the press today, State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass said that the Congress was out in a campaign to mislead consumers on the GST. The idea of one-tax did conceive in former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “It’s Prime Minister rendra Modi who has translated the dream of Vajpayeeji into a reality. We hope GST will be a history in the making on the economic front and in the right direction. This is indeed a gift for the poor and middle-class people. While the people and other parties have been welcoming the shifting of the tion to one-tax, the Congress has been busy in misleading the consumers. This is condemble. The Congress is trying to mislead the people. This sty policy of the party has proved its double standard. Assam was the first to approve the GST Bill. I thank Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and Fince Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for such a step.”
