State level activities of ASC started

GUWAHATI, Oct 8: The Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) organized the state level activities of Aryabhatta Science Centre (ASC) at the Regiol Science Centre (RSC) premises of the city today. ASTEC divisiol head RK Barman said in the iuguration function of the programme: “Though, there are limited resources, we are trying to develop the scientific temper among the children of the state through various ways. This programme was one among those steps. To develop the scientific temper, we have to strengthen our society with the fast changing inputs of science and technology and innovate to become a developed country.” The activity programme was iugurated by former professor of Gauhati University Barin Kumar Sharma, where he said, “Imagition is much more important than the information and so we should always have urge for the knowledge with imagition.” ASTEC director AK Mishra also said the importance of the science in our daily life and to develop our country. Mishra said, “The state level competitions of science based extempore speech, poster drawing and model making will be held in the programme, which were selected through block and district level competitions.”
