Student-cabbie fracas: Seven students found guilty

GUWAHATI, August 17: The discipliry committee of Cotton College has found seven of its students guilty in the August 11 night student-cabbie fracas in front of Guwahati Railway Station. The two-member inquiry committee formed by college Principal Nirada Devi submitted its report on the fracas yesterday. The discipliry committee of the college had a five-hour-long discussion on the inquiry report today. After the meeting, Principal Nirada Devi told newsmen that seven students were found guilty in the incident. “Another student is also seen in the footage, but he can’t be identified,” she said, and added: “We need to see the career of the students while taking any decision on taking action against them. The action to be taken against them will be made public on Friday next.”

The Principal of the college further said that four PG students were also involved in the fracas. She said that it was up to Cotton College State University (CCSU) to take action. The Principal said that uniform would be introduced for the students of the college soon.
