Surgeons' conference held in city

GUWAHATI, Nov 17: Prof Subhash Khan became the first surgeon from Assam who delivered the Dr RH Karmakar oration at the 62nd Annual conference of Intertiol College of Surgeons held at Guwahati from November 11 to 13, a press release said.

Intertiol College of Surgeons is one of the biggest organizations of the world promoting academic and scientific activities of the different fields of Medicine & Surgery.

Dr Khan is also elected as all India convener of fellowship courses of Indian Association of Gastrointestil Endo Surgeons (IAGES).

He spoke on the topic “Widening Horizons of Endolaparoscopic Surgery”.

Khan in his speech empathized on the need of making all these advanced technologies and treatment facilities available to all section of society. Vice chancellor of Srimanta Sankardev University of Sciences Prof. U. C. Sharma also delivered an oration in the same meeting. Sharma spoke on Challenges to Medical Education in India.
