Suspected Bangladeshi picked up in city

GUWAHATI, May 3: Acting on a tip-off from Silchar police, City Police here picked a suspected Bangladeshi, Anwara Begum Laskar, from Ahmed Mansion owned by Emuddin Ahmed at Gandhibasti in Guwahati yesterday.
Ashabur Rahman, husband of the woman, told the police that his wife hails from Silchar, not from Bangladesh. He even produced her voter identity card to the police. The Jalukbari police is supposed to hand over the woman to Silchar police.
