GUWAHATI, March 16: After over four months, suspended DIPR Ranjit Gogoi got bail in connection with the DIPR scam on Friday. The bench of Justice Rumi Kumar Phukan granted his bail plea. Sleuths of Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell of the Assam Police had arrested Gogoi on the charge of misappropriation of funds in the Vision Assam-Mission Assam scheme just before the 2016 Assembly election in the State. Rs 30 crore was spent in the scheme. It was Dispur MLA Atul Bora who had lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister in this regard.
