GUWAHATI, Sept 27: Many pandal hoppers during the Durga Puja in Guwahati feel that their festivity is incomplete without tasting zelebis of diverse hues that tempt their taste buds. Such street foods make even diabetic forget doctor’s bar on them, as though zelebi during the puja season has the blessings of the Goddess as one of the ingredients. During this puja season, Guwahati has witnessed diverse types of zelebis at diverse prices. The prices on the streets are quite different from that of shops and restaurants. The prices being charged for the delicacy in the city are up to Rs 200 per kg for common zelebis, Rs 300-360 a kg for zelebis made of pure ghee and the special zelebi made of gram is sold at Rs 500 a kg.
