GUWAHATI, March 10: The Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad, Asom (TAYPA) today condemned the incident of ransack of Silapathar AASU office by the members of the Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samany Samiti (NBBUSS) on March 6 last. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati Press Club today, TAYPA publicity secretary Dharma Kanta Gogoi said: “Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal should be stripped on the ‘jatiya yak’ title. This is because if such an incident takes place when he’s in power in the State, one may guess what else is going to happen in the State in the days ahead. The indigenous people of the State are a panicked lot today as they aren’t sure what decision the government will take on the vexed issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill.” Gogoi said: “It’s surprising that the government hasn’t been able to arrest Subudh Bishwas, an incognito Bangladeshi broker from gpur. The government should also immediately arrest NBBUSS’ State president Sahadev Das and Benimadhab Roy.”
