Teachers call off dhar

GUWAHATI, March 10: Following a discussion with the SSA Mission Director on March 7, the Asom Rajyik Prathamik Shikshak Sanmilani (ARPSS) has called off its proposed dhra to be staged on March 18 in protest against the order from SSA to hang the photographs of teachers in school premises, said ARPSS president Jibon Chandra Bora and general secretary Ratul Chandra Goswami in a press release today. During the meeting, the SSA Director assured the teachers of supplying free of cost textbooks to the students by March 25, release of arrears for mid-day meal by April, etc.
