Thousands throng Janmastami festival in city

GUWAHATI, Aug 17: The four-day Sri Krish Janmastami celebrations organized by Hare Krish Movement, Guwahati at Soram Field, Bharalumukh since August 13 concluded on Thursday.

Highlight of the day was Abhishekam to our beloved Spiritual Master A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (founder Acharya of worldwide Hare Krish Movement) also devotees read Their Homage offerings to Srila Prabhupada.

The event was attended by state dignitaries and various people from all walks of life and they all appreciated the efforts of Srila Prabhupada in bringing the Krish consciousness teachings to humankind.

On the occasions of Sri Krish Janmashtami, the Divine Appearance Day of Lord Krish, the programme started since 5 AM onwards and continued till midnight on Wednesday. Governor Banwarilal Purohit visited the venue in the evening to grace the occasion.

The Abhishekam was attended by the chief secretary and other bureaucrats.

DGP Mukesh Sahay also visited the venue and took blessings

Devotees offered 108 special offerings to their lordships made ghee, milk, vegetables, fruits etc for the pleasure of their lordships and these offerings distributed to devotees also throughout the day kheer/kichidi prasadam distributed to everyone on all the 4 days.

Sri Jardha Dasa, while giving his speech on the last day of the festival offered his thanks and gratitude to the assembled devotees and the people in general and stated that Sri Krish Janmastami is a festival that enlightens people and spreads the message of peace and brotherhood in the society and assured to continue this transcendental process next year too.
